Liverpool band Space has announced the first dates of its 20th anniversary tour. The hometown show is at the East Village Arts Club on Friday 25th October, with support coming from Liverpool based band, The Thespians.
Platinum selling band Space came to prominence in the mid 1990’s, with hit singles such as Female of the Species, Neighbourhood, Avenging Angels, Me and You Verses the World and The Ballad of Tom Jones. They also worked with Tom Jones and Cerys Matthews.
The band formed in 1993 and released four studio albums, plus a number of charting singles, before disbanding in 2005. The new line-up features original band members Tommy Scott (vocals/guitar) and Franny Griffiths (keyboards). Along with Phil Hartley (double bass/bass), Ryan Clarke (vintage keys) and drummer Allan Jones who took over the drums from Andy Parle who sadly died in 2009.
New album Attack Of The 50ft Kebab will be released next year: “The band has evolved because we have three new younger members and I have sucked all their passion and youth out of them and made a great album. You can expect a battle ground of genres, from Ska to post punk to easy listening all fighting together in the arena of death” says singer Tommy Scott.
Tickets for Space on October 25th at the East Village Arts Club are on sale now. Tickets are priced at £12.50 and tickets are available from www.ticketweb.co.uk or by telephone on 0844 8472465.
