Mississippi’s brightest new export, The Weeks, have announced details of their return to the U.K. The band will take in twelve shows starting in Brighton on the 16th October and finishing in Manchester on October 29th. The tour will also take in Liverpool’s East Arts Village on Seel Street on October 19th.
This will be the band’s second full U.K. tour after supporting the Kings Of Leon earlier in the summer. The tour took in arenas around the U.K. and Europe, including two nights at London’s O2 Arena. They also completed their own club tour and an appearance at the Hard Rock Calling Festival.
The Weeks released their debut U.K. album Dear Bo Jackson on July 15th to much acclaim. The album is a swell of contemporary southern rock, soul and greasy guitars which all make up The Weeks’ undeniable gutsy sound, it is a truthful tale of modern southern life, full of hope despite often punishing circumstances.
The five-piece came together in 2006 and earned their rock ’n’ roll stripes on the Mississippi live circuit, playing in sweaty drunk clubs and supporting the likes of the Meat Puppets. The Weeks consist of Sam Williams (guitar), Damien Bone (Bass), Alex ‘Admiral’ Collier (keyboards) and twin brothers Cain (drums) and Cyle Barnes (vocals).
