As a part of a double announcement, tickets have gone on sale for Kay Mellor’s glorious comedy A Passionate Woman starring Lynda Bellingham and which will be on at the Royal Court Theatre from Monday 24th to Saturday 1st March 2014.
This brand new production is a part of its pre West End tour by David Pugh & Dafydd Rogers the multi award winning producers of Calendar Girls, Brief Encounter, The Full Monty and ART. As well as Lynda Bellingham, the show stars Christopher Timothy, Peter McMillan and Polish film star Mateusz Damieicki.
Most recently, Lynda Bellingham created the role of Chris in Calendar Girls playing to sold out houses in the West End and across the country. A Passionate Woman reunites her with Christopher Timothy for the first time since 1990 when they starred as James and Helen Herriot in the B.B.C.’s All Creatures Great and Small. One of the U.K.s most endearing actors, Lynda Bellingham is no stranger to Liverpool and audiences and will no doubt thrill the crowds once more.
Peter McMillan is best known for his extensive theatre work and Mateusz Damieicki has appeared in over 30 Polish films and television programmes including the Polish version of Strictly Come Dancing.
It’s the morning of Betty’s son’s wedding and she decides to go up into the attic to dust.
Surrounded by clutter, memories and ghosts from her past, Betty finds herself torn between the three men in her life – a husband she’s never really loved, a son she’s about to lose and a man she had a passionate affair with over thirty years ago.
Desperate to escape it all, there’s only one place to go and that’s…up.
