Grammy award winning band, The Mavericks are back to tour the U.K. in July 2013.
The post-punk band with deep retro-fittings who emerged from Miami’s indie scene over 20 years ago, created a sound of neo-traditional country music which has been described as having innocence, intensity, and vintage influences all on equal measure.
With Cuban American lead singer Raul Malo at the helm, the country-steeped garage band have played sold out shows in the U.K. including London’s Royal Albert Hall and extensive tours of Japan, South America, Europe, the U.S.A. and Canada.
Now The Mavericks are back with a new album, U.K. tour, and a unique Tex-Mex sound which fuses traditional country music with rock & roll!
Raul Malo said, “It took life for us to get to this point. Everybody was so free. From the first notes, it sounded like an explosion of sound; we went where the songs took us with a singularity of purpose. We came in to make music as grown-ups, to make music as men.”
The tour which will see them perform at the Liverpool Philharmonic Hall on Monday 22nd July before travelling onto Sheffield on the 23rd, Leicester on the 24th and Plymouth on the 25th before going onto The Cambridge Folk Festival on the 27th July.
