Freerange Theatre Company Returns To The Lantern With Spoonface Steinberg.

Freerange Theatre Company is returning to The Lantern Theatre in Liverpool on Saturday 8th June 2013 with its production of Spoonface Steinberg by Lee Hall, the acclaimed writer of Billy Elliot, The Pitman Painters and much more. The performance starts at 7.30pm and is followed by a question and answer session with the Freerange team.

Originally written as a radio play broadcast on Radio 4, the overwhelming public response to this stunning and memorable piece resulted in it being adapted for T.V. and stage. Hall’s razor sharp humour  is ever evident  as eight year ‘Spoonface’ (convincingly portrayed by Rebecca Fenwick and directed by Hugo Chandor) investigates her  world and shares  her honest and uplifting views on faith, love, the meaning of life, death – and Mrs Spud, the cleaner!  Never self-pitying or sentimental, ‘Spoonface’ familiarises unfamiliar views and helps us to appreciate the beauty in the world, in humanity and in adversity. This performance will not disappoint and should not be missed.

Freerange Theatre Company is a professional, small-scale touring company co-founded in 2001 by Hugo.  From the start, Freerange has been known for providing and performing ‘quality’ with Best Actor and Best Production awards under its belt.  Its last production – Einstein’s Daughter by Rob Johnston – was nominated for Best Actor, Best Production and Best New Writing at the Buxton Fringe Festival 2012.  All reviews were consistently superb, making it into the Public Reviews ‘Best of 2012’ list.

Spoonface Steinberg is currently touring widely, finishing at The Buxton Fringe Festival in July. Full tour details and more about Freerange can be found at www.freerangetheatre.co.uk .

Tickets for Spoonface Steinberg are priced at £10 with concessions available at £8.
