The organisers of Liverpool’s renowned Martini Lounge Burlesque and Variety Show will return to the Epstein Theatre sooner than they thought for another evening of glitz, glamour and tantalising performances! Their next show was booked in for June 2013 but in the wake of the sell-out success of their February show an April date (Saturday 13) has just been added, to keep burlesque fans from waiting too long for their next fix! The April feast of burlesque, vaudeville and variety will see the return of some much requested Martini Lounge favourites and the sparkling debut of a brand new burlesque butterfly making her Martini Lounge debut.
Returning after wowing at last June’s Martini Lounge is Kitty Bang Bang – the self-proclaimed whisky-soaked, fire-breathing, chopper riding Princess of British Burlesque! This cabaret chameleon will add a delightful dash of decadence to the proceedings. Incorporating both traditional 50s glamour puss with the electric energy of rock n roll to create her famously electrifying performance Kitty draws upon a twenty-two year acquisition of performance skill to deliver her highly choreographed and spectacular stage shows.
The daughter of an Irish showgirl and an eccentric Viennese aristocrat, the ethereal Vicky Butterfly fuses classic glamour with dreams, innovation and an up-to-date sense of fun and showmanship. Her beautifully choreographed routines take in everything from the wraithlike and the breath-taking to the macabre and the erotic. Always in demand internationally from Paris to Bali, she has an enviable roster of clients, sparkling reviews and magazine covers to her name. Catch Vicky Butterfly this April in her Martini Lounge debut.
Martini Lounge’s mischievous Fred Bear is once again the evening’s host and promises to keep the audience in check whilst entertaining with his witty banter and rib-tickling brand of humour. As a Burlesque authority, Fred has flexed his influential muscles and landed a very special surprise for this particular evening as the hugely in demand troupe and long-time favourites , The Bears, return and are set to deliver a bountiful bearlesque spectacular for one night only; a truly unmissable event for burlesque fans old and new. No ‘Lounge line up would be complete without an appearance from Liverpool’s leading Burlesque star Miss Millie Dollar. Having effortlessly enchanted audiences internationally with her own famous routines, Millie can perform anything from traditional burlesque to the raunchy bump and grind popularised in the 50s and usually mixes the two.
Unanimously regarded as the must-see Burlesque and Variety show in the U.K., The Martini Lounge honours the satire and performance art that evolved since Burlesque’s 19th Century beginnings. The audience is invited to enjoy heart-pounding performances of glitz and glamour from a by-gone age and a stylish and enchanting night of variety entertainment.
Tickets for Martini Lounge Burlesque and Variety Show are priced at £20. Doors for the show open at 7.30pm.
