Following Outstanding First Year, The Young Everyman Playhouse Return To Camp And Furnace With Papertown.

Young Everyman Playhouse (Y.E.P.) begins its second year with a return to Camp and Furnace, following the success of last year’s Intimate, with a new production Papertown. The promenade piece is in collaboration with the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts and is at the Greenland Street venue from Tuesday 5th to Thursday 7th March.

Papertown is a world created to be perfect, a place where there are no problems, a place with no decisions, no information overload, a simple place, a place where you can just be, a stress-free world where you no longer need to think… However, is there more to this utopia than meets the eye?

The production is devised and performed by the Young Actors and for the first time they will join forces with the Young Writers who have scripted the play. The production also sees YEP collaborating with Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (L.I.P.A.) whose Technical and Design students have designed the large scale production and will stage manage the show.

Matt Rutter, Director of Young Everyman Playhouse, said, “We are delighted with how Y.E.P .has progressed over the last year with all strands of the company having shown their skills in our first season of work. Papertown showcases the talents across the whole of Y.E.P. to create a very ambitious and unique play devised by the company in a great setting.”

Lucy Harris, a Y.E.P. Young Actor, said, “People who come to see Papertown will be transported to another world that is completely different to their own where interesting surprises are around every corner.”

Last year Y.E.P. gained critical acclaim for their inaugural production Intimate, and once again Papertown will be an ambitious production, using the expansive space of Camp and Furnace as a grand canvass to explore.

Tickets for Papertown are priced at £4 and £6 with no booking fee. Tickets are available from the Box office, via telephone on 0151 7094776 or online at www.everymanplayhouse.com. Performances are at 6pm and 8pm.
