Actress and Comedienne Crissy Rock is to head an all star cast in the musical Down Our Street at the Royal Court, Liverpool this April.
Crissy, known for her role in hit T.V. Comedy Benidorm as well as a contestant in I.T.V.’s I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here, is delighted to be part of this new production of the hit musical. She’s looking forward to playing a host of different roles in this fast moving production that charts Merseyside life over 150 years.
Joining Crissy will be T.V. and Stage actors and Royal Court regulars Suzanne Collins and Roy Brandon. Liverpool comic legend Micky Finn returns to his acclaimed roles in the piece whilst Lynne Fitzgerald, Linzi Germain, Lesley Butler and Lenny Wood come together in the musical play that celebrates the fantastic history of Cammell Laird through the eyes of the people of Merseyside.
Writer and Director, Brian McCann says, ‘It’s an exciting production to be part of. Crissy is one of the loveliest and funniest people I’ve met, she is guaranteed to bring a lot of fun and laughter to the production. I’ve worked with Suzanne and Micky on several occasions; they’re two great friends and great actors who both bring the stage alive as soon as they step onto it. Micky Finn had the audience in tears every night last time he appeared in the show; mind you he usually had me in tears in rehearsals’.
The play celebrates the life and times of Cammell Laird, and the people of Merseyside. For well over a century and a half, ‘The Yard’ was the employer of thousands upon thousands of people from the Wirral, across the water in Liverpool and beyond’.
Brian added, ‘Mention Cammell Laird and everyone’s got a story to tell. Birkenhead was built around the shipyard and people from all over Merseyside, the country and the world came to work or were connected to the yard. It’s the fantastic cast we’ve put together, along with the play that guarantees a great night out…Down Our Street’.
Tickets for Down Our Street are available from the Royal Court Box office, via telephone on 0870 7871866 or online at www.royalcourtliverpool.com. The show runs from April 12th untill April 27th.
