Adrian Edmondson is one of the most iconic faces on television. As part of the superb Comic Strip Presents…team, Vivyan in the cult anarchic series The Young Ones and in recent years appearing in programmes as diverse as Holby City and Hell’s Kitchen. He also has a huge musical background and in the last few years has performed with the Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band, The Idiot Bastard Band and more notably, the exceptional Folk/ Punk crossover group The Bad Shepherds with Troy Dunkley and Andy Dinan.
With the band talking of a third album to complement the astounding Yan, Tyan, Tethera, Methera album of 2009 and its sublime follow up By Hook Or By Crook, the three musicians have announced a tour which will see them come back to Merseyside in November.
The band combines folk instruments with the best of the punk genre and the result is one of most interesting and musically sensational nights an audience is likely to see.
Tracks that the band have given a wonderful sense of life to include, The Stranglers’ hit No More Heroes, The Jam’s Down In the Tube Station, The Buzzcock’s Ever Fallen In Love (With Someone You Shouldn’t Have) and the classic Sex Pistols’ track God Save The Queen.
It may seem a long way off but for a night of excellent music in a brand new style, The Bad Shepherds are worth counting down the days for.
Tickets for The Bad Shepherds are on sale now from the o2 Academy Box office and are priced at £18.50.
