Paramore, Brand New Eyes. Album Review.

Paramore released their new album Brand New Eyes this week and after the disappointment of 2007′s Riot, the band have come back with a more mature and lyrically improved album. The band seem more relaxed with themselves, possibly more than at any other time in their career and it shows from the off as vocalist Hayley Williams comes across as a genuine contender for top female rock voice.

The album opens with Careful, a song with bite and typical Hayley Williams attitude and is quickly followed by one of the stand out tracks on the record, Playing God. Hayley’s voice suits this type of song much better and is assisted by some great guitar work by lead guitarist Josh Farro and new member Taylor York.

Having listened to the album the listener will be struck by how much input producer Rob Cavallo must have had on the recording, the producer who oversaw the majority of Green Day’s albums seems to have nurtured the band in very much the same way he did with the boys from California.

The whole album has a strong, vibrant feel to it and it is a indication that Paramore are, once more the band that were heavily touted by some critics to be the next big thing.
