One thing you can guarantee at a Thunder gig is that you will be joined by some of the most vocal and dedicated fans in rock today.

By opening the set with Dirty Dream from last year’s Robert Johnson’s Tombstone album and the excellent Last Man Standing Thunder set their stall out to entertain.

They continued to huge applause from a capacity crowd with The Devil Made Me Do It and the love song I’ll Be Waiting.

The biggest cheer of the night came for two of their oldest hits, Backstreet Symphony and the brilliant Love Walked In which seem to be played with an extra spring in singer Danny Bowes step. Guitarist Luke Morley was on top form as he fed off the crowd’s boundless energy.

Even with the venue losing the main stage lighting during the encores, which included Andy Warhol Said and a superb version of Better Man with the ending sung by drummer Harry James, it only served to make it much more of a night to remember.
